Here are a few examples out of the many fantastic experiences to be had in this area of outstanding natural beauty. When you arrive you will find a whole treasure chest of personal recommendations and secret finds which will ensure your holiday gets off to a great start.

wildlife is truly wild here.                                                             The Cairngorms have been called one of the last real wilderness places in Britain, and this whole area is perfect for seeing animals in their natural habitats. We have well over thirty species of birds just in our own grounds, including partridges, bullfinches and tree creepers as well as red squirrels, bats and owls. There are many places locally to see wolves, wild cats, deer, ospreys........the list just goes on and on!

Whether you prefer horse riding, fishing, golf, hiking, sailing, canoeing, cycling, skiing, dog sledding or just a leisurely walk in fantastic scenery, it is all available right on your doorstep. Equipment hire is readily available, as is tuition. Even if you just try one activity that you’ve never done before you will feel so rejuvenated.

arts and antiques.

There are many opportunities to try your hand at a new art or craft and explore your creativity. As well as workshops within our own grounds, several other artists provide ‘have a go’ sessions locally, including pottery at the wheel and ceramic painting. Some tourist attractions also give demonstrations in traditional highland crafts.

For those who enjoy searching for vintage bargains there are many local opportunities to suit all tastes and pockets! Some are situated in really stunning locations.

history is all around you here.

Local museums and trails provide award winning interactive experiences of life over the last four centuries in the highlands. There is a strong sense of ownership of land and heritage, and whether you prefer to follow a guide off the beaten track or visit more structured facilities, the richness of the culture and identity of this wild land will be something you take away with you.
